I don’t understand the coal plants vs CF light bulb comparison.
The amount of mercury in a CFLs glass tubing is minute; each Project Porchlight CFL bulb contains 2.5 mg of mercury, about the size of a period at the end of a sentence.
Yup, one bulb is not dangerous at all but what would happen if all light bulbs were changed over and billions of these bulbs were burried in landfills? I would bet you the mercury levels in the water around those landfills would rise, don’t ya think?
