Despite the claims, I’ve yet to see an unbiased study that shows that women who’ve had abortions suffer any more from mental illness than those who haven’t. The anti-choice crowd will swear up and down that women are becoming depressed and committing suicide from “murdering their child,” but they can’t prove it beyond anecdotal evidence.

Thank you. I also wanted to add that most of my friends who’ve had abortions eventually went on to become parents, often of several children. And those children would never have been born had those earlier pregnancies not been ended.
I just feel like, in some cosmic way, it evens out in the end.

Women do not spend their lives agonizing over this decision, and it is wrong of society to demand that they should — which is essentially what the religious right has done in the past decade. If you can’t outlaw it, fabricate such massive guilt that you destroy the lives of the “sinners.”
