So, we get stuff that is overpriced compared to the competitors. Apple is a status symbol, nothing more.

I have no interest in getting into an argument about computer platforms, but I have to say that my experience with Apple products (over the course of about 30 years now) versus every other computer manufacturer’s products is exactly the opposite of yours. Apple has a reputation for quality products because their quality is simply better than everyone else’s.
