In an absolute and objective sense, not at all. But 90% of what we talk about involving this case is conjecture, heavily shaded by how we stand on the issue of SYG and race in general.

I have come to assume that the state prosecutors must have a pretty solid case, or they would not have pressed for second-degree murder charges.
Zimmerman’s jittery behavior tends to support that assumption.

Well, it’s always hard to be certain on that. While in an ideal world it wouldn’t be true, political considerations can often play in to the decision on whether or not to bring charges in a case, working in both directions. I mean, look at John Edwards just the other day. The general consensus among legal experts is (And was even before the trial began) that there was really no case there and the government should have never gone forward with it. And if the background of the case and the defendant weren’t what they were, it’s likely prosecutors wouldn’t have. At least, that’s my view.
