I happen to think we have nothing to fear from the Oathkeepers. Police, ex military and firemen. ooh scary! Given the atmosphere, we seem to need new boogiemen to fear. May as well worry about the Whigs. The Whigs are also largely ex military and Police. And if you asked them over coffee which of the infamous ten orders, they would refuse them too as any sensible person would.

Frankly, I am far more worried about gangland & cartel violence, which takes lives everyday, often attacking police directly.

I could be wrong, but IMHO there will be no revolution. There may be incidents, but we seem hyper sensitized to the politically based threats, and at the same time just skip over daily headlines of real gunfights and deaths in our cities. Huh?

Actual revolution isn’t the real fear. The fear is small bands of highly-motivated crazies wreaking havoc. Planning and funding aside, 9/11 was basically the work of just 19 guys. The Murrah building bombing was 2 guys. JFK was killed by one guy.

There have been, and always will be crazies. But right now it sure seems like the out-of-power party and its various and sundry media shills more or less pander to and encourage the craziness. Rather than taking the high ground and showing themselves to be measured, rational, deliberate thinkers, they’re ranting about tyranny and death panels. Being measured, rational, and deliberate now gets you ostracized from the GOP. The result is the non-crazy people become demoralized and the lunatics take over.
