That completely sucks. I haven’t had to deal with BoA, but with Chase for my mortgage. The process has been mostly okay, but the rates have been on the high side of the average. We do all other banking through Chase, so it was convenient to have everything linked and it’s a neighborhood branch.

But if the bank pulled a series of stunts like that, I’d be raising holy hell and demanding heads on a platter - all while looking to another bank to process the refi under HARP (if you qualify). And I think the other bank would be amenable to doing it for you too.

Oh, and writing letters to your local reps - and newspapers - can spur them into action too.

Whatever route you take, good luck in taking BoA down a notch or 10.
