Yeah, there’s my dilemma - we ALL KNOW the folly of trying to fight a LIMITED war - it always fails. The only historical examples of successful wars being fought that I can think of is when the enemy was killed in enough numbers and their stuff blown up in sufficient quantity as to extract their unconditional surrender. The victors DICTATE the terms under which they may continue to exist.

If Israel is to ever successfully defend itself for the long haul, how else could they conduct a war, other than to inflict sufficient damage on their enemies as to force their unconditional surrender? If I can’t advocate for that here, then what’s the alternative, other than advocating for more of the same half-assed tit-for-tat warfare, ad infinitum?

My point exactly. We have to be careful with moral equivalence. Cheerleading for an IDF ground offensive is NOT promoting genocide, but the result could be catastrophic death of Palistinians, not just Hamas. Very difficult situation there, maybe impossible.
