Lennonists don’t look kindly on heterodoxist additions to their dogma. Wish there was more humor and less veracity to that statement.

He was an interesting guy, but the whole enshrinement thing is just…blech. It’s a disservice to your heroes promote hagiography over reality: good people, talented people, can be deeply screwed up, and can even have done deeply wrong things.

Lennon is gone. There will never be anyone like him again. Anyone else that sings a Lennon song will never capture the feeling that the unique individual had. Even if you change one lyric. Or didn’t change them all. The only version of “Imagine” I would ever find myself listening to would be the one sung by Lennon. Others would listen to Green. But I would never expect to listen to Green and have that same feeling I get from listening to Lennon.
