Books are a dying art form — except for genre fiction. If you have any fantasies about writing books, fuggedaboutit — unless you want to write mysteries, romances, sci-fi, erotica, teen, etc. There’s a still a market for those. The rest is a lost cause, financially.

What “kind” of writer do you want to be? Fiction? Nonfiction? Literary? Mass market? Academic? Etc.?
