There you go. That is a good way to put it. I have to hide my reaction when a zillion different women come up and hug me as a routine greeting/goodbye. It seems to be a custom around here.

I have that problem through work too.

One time we were working with some teens in a residential community (that was an alternative to prison for them, so they could deal with their drug and alcohol addictions) and right around Christmas time this one young girl took my kindness to mean something else entirely.

She started hugging me randomly (and not quick, simple hugs either). I had to back away from helping when she started to write my name on her arms….

After that I just now generally avoid hugging people altogether unless I know them well.
