And moderate Muslims do speak out against the radicals in their faith, quite regularly…but don’t expect them to get much press.

That’s a touchy situation. When they do get press, they also get death threats from other muslims.

The best analogy is that of Germany in the 1930s. Not all Germans were nazis, but those who were not and spoke out were silenced. Ultimately the the fact that the good Germans could not overcome the bad led to the world’s largest conflagration and 10s of millions dead.
