LOVELAND - Prosecutors have reached a plea deal in the case of a woman accused of destroying controversial artwork that some say depicted Jesus Christ in a sex act with another man.

Prosecutors say 56-year-old Kathleen Folden, a truck driver from Kalispell, Mont., pleaded guilty to a class one misdemeanor count of criminal mischief.

Her attorney, Derek Samuelson, said the plea deal was just and appropriate.

Authorities say Folden will serve 18 months of unsupervised probation after she used an 18-inch crowbar to smash a Plexiglas case inside the Loveland Museum/Gallery on Oct. 6 and then destroyed a piece of artwork called “The Misadventures of Romantic Cannibals.”
