Likely. And of course you know, I am anti-death-penalty, so I don’t think it’s ever an appropriate sentence in any case.
The point, however - is that people do bad things; and many who reflect on it can come to a point in their lives where they are indeed rehabilitated. Which tells me their debt to “society” has been paid.
I don’t know how I would feel if it was my family member who was murdered. The grief would be with me always. But I don’t believe I could hang onto the anger for so long that his release after all this time would give me any grief.
