The thing is that Iraq may well be a victory after all. We have to see how things go in the next few years, but if it stays at least mostly democratic we will be able to claim a substantial, though not decisive, victory.

I am not concerned about declaring victory. I am concerned about declaring war on a country that never was a threat to us. I am concerned about all the loss of life, civilian and military. And the cost.

Same with Vietnam.

At least with Afghanistan, there was some rationale. The all out invasion was probably not the best way. But now, it is what it is.
