How much more frakking money are we going to toss into the education black hole? How about teaching some basics like personal budgets and accountability. Would that be too much to burden the little darlings with?

The primary basic that needs to be brought back to the schools—discipline. Period.

Kids and parents pay no price for atrocious behavior in public schools. If a kid doesn’t want to accept the freely offered opportunity to be educated and shaped into an employable, functional literate human, it should not be allowed to return to the building for free food and an opportunity to screw up the environment for everybody else.
