Greets and saluts from the NYC metro area. The NYC area papers are having a field day with the AF1 flyby fiasco where no one bothered to inform the public of the spectacle until after the event (and the ensuing panic) occurred.

NYC issued email notifications 20 minutes after the event started. They should have notified the public well ahead of the flyby, but the FAA had it on a need to know basis. The WH issued an apology, but I still wonder why the flyby was even necessary for the photo shoot, given that nothing had changed from the last time the photos were taken over the Statue of Liberty.
