re: #493 ralphieboy

Lemme try and sum up what I see as “progressivism” in a few sentences for your perusal: It is the government taking a role to ensure that individuals and groups cannot turn economic advantage into legal advantage.

We are all supposed to be equal before the law, but not necessarily in our earnings and assets.

Progressivism was a movement to make sure that those who were at the top of the food chain did not enjoy any undue advantages over those who were at the bottom, whether it be their own misfortune or the whims of fate and history.

Thank you.

And I ask what those undue advantages might be. I’m pretty damn smart ( so everyone I’ve worked for has said - damn quick engineer). What do we do about that? I don’t think that anyone wants Diana Moon Glampers…
Harrison Bergeron, so who decides? Who draws the line?
Is it fair that I can call my boss and say I’d like to stay home to fuckoff today? No Penalty, I get paid. Of course I’ve worked 50+hours for the last 6 months, i’ve worlked for the for 15 years////

Is that all FAIR? If not, to whom is it unfair?
