Some problems cannot be solved at a local level: Immigration, for example. Resource management is another.
And as we were seeing in the 1960, basic civil rights were not being guaranteed in certain areas of the USA.
We got a bit carried away with the role of a federal government, and I am always in favor of a local solution when it is practicable.
Immigration? I fart in your general direction. What has the federal government done in the last 20 years to secure our borders to the land massed north and south?
