I don’t think that it is a matter of allowing them to do anything.
They exercise their rights & are overly agressive & sure of thir positions even in the face of contrary facts.
I recall a case study in Sociology , could have been Max Weber, claimimg that street gang leadership was assumed by the most agressive nut.
Could be in play with fringe players.

few Americans vote…if they vetted the candidates and voted accordingly, we might be in this perenial quagmire
