This this is an open thread, and since math & physics have been mentioned (very cool!), I’d like to share an insight.

In the New Testament, John says, “In the beginning was the Word…” The original is logos, meaning not just work but thought. To begin to understand the universe takes a combination of reasoning, mathematical computation, and expression—in fact, the synthesis of all areas of mankind’s mental abilities. Some of us are limited to only part of these (higher math is not my thing although it fascinates me), but every one of us who contributes to the education of a child helps that child grow a bit closer to that ideal.
