As strange as it is these facts are not mutually exclusive. If you waved a magic wand and took all the NRA trainers out of the picture, there would be a larger safety problem until the vacuum was filled by others. I think understanding the difference between the NRA safety programs and classes and it’s ILA is simply to understand the reality on the ground. This is not a defense of the NRA political or lobbying side. It’s just having seen the impact of the well funded safety classes and programs.

It’s a shame that responsible gun owners blindly follow the NRA instead of other organizations that believe in real responsible gun ownership like closing gun show loopholes, gun locks, fingerprint scanning for weapons to become functional, ensuring the owner is the one using it. There are other organizations that are for owners and not a mouthpiece for manufacturers.
