They certainly have no idea how ballistics actually work. I have seen ammosexuals declare with categorical certainty that you could not hit a target 250 yards away with a .45 pistol. It isn’t easy because of the extreme elevation required but it can be done and, more importantly, it is a consequence of the natural laws of motion.
Ignoring wind, that only requires a bullet to be traveling at 260mph if you aim at 45 degrees, or 366 if you aim at 30 degrees.
Edit: Don’t take these as real. I think I did it wrong. I shouldn’t physics and work. I’ll figure the values out later.
