That’s true. they do it that way because they don’t want to handle or search your computer. They ask you to turn it on to make sure it’s actually a functioning computer and not a gutted shell filled with explosives. It’s common sense security.

I didn’t say it wasn’t. But it’s a weasel statement to claim “Our officers don’t even turn computers on during inspection.” Technically true, but evades the actual point, the point that they do have the objects turned on.
