There was an article from The Economist I read a few days back (can’t find it now) and the gist of that article was that we cannot assume that Putin is a rational actor.

After yesterday’s insane televised rant, that article now seems almost prophetic.

There’s been several references to Munich today by both sides of the aisle and it could be argued that what we’ve been seeing for months now was Vlad’s play at such and what it would have looked like in 1938 had a negotiated agreement not been met. He’s making a play at forcing the West to hold him to “only” gobbling up the Donbas in return for no further aggression and another redrawing of the borders.
