It occurs to me that this really goes against the popular theory that Obama want’s to nationalize the economy. He’s making it very uncomfortable for private businesses to accept government money. The banks are clamouring to get out of TARP and GM is now seriously looking at bankruptcy instead of bailouts with public funds. I don’t see this as a bad thing. I’d be more worried if they were loving the deals Obama is offering and lining up for more. The more they complain the better this is.
Maybe we could make them wear funny hats too, just for a laugh.
