Interesting history between Blair & Brown, they go back a long way. Brown was the dull introverted intellectual, Blair was the outgoing charmer.

It was good to see Blair giving such strong support to the US after 9-11, but any UK PM would have done the same. The “special relationship” is vital to Britain in that it allows them to leverage their influence in Europe and stand up to France & Germany.
