Nothing builds lack of character and denial of reality like pretending chicken grows in supermarket coolers and the rabbit in your stew is not really the Easter Bunny.

I’ve advocated here before that everyone ought to kill something and eat it at least once in their lives, and that it ought to be something other than a fish - something with feathers or fur. As you say, it builds character knowing where your food came from, and that it died feeding you.
