In all fairness, I don’t think you’ve proved your assertion by any means. You have certainly shown why you think the post office could be closed, but I don’t think you can currently prove that closing the Post Office would have zero effect on the economy, thus it stands to reason that your assertion is an exaggeration.

I don’t assume that nothing will replace it. I would likewise be ok with taking away their monopoly and allowing competition by the two private carriers.

We have two private companies that compete with each other for carrier business. Why not let them compete with the USPS, and completely take the USPS off the federal books?
