I attach bells to my outside cats on breakaway collars to give the critters a chance. But then again I’m a bleeding heart liberal!

Our family cat when I was growing up had a belled collar. Didn’t work that well since the cat could walk across the yard without ringing to get into the hedge. And then it ambushed from there apparently since the back porch usually had a “donation”* on it in the morning. That feline was a 1st class hunter and anytime we moved the local small rodent and bird population gene pool got a cleaning.

* - Usually part of the animal since she ate most of her kills.
