If I read Avanti’s post correctly, it appears he’s allowing for that possibility.

Nate’s polling has already shown the slight trend downward he predicted. If he gets through the health care debate still in the 50’s, he’ll be lucky. The safest way to not offend some voters is to do as little as possible, and he’s committed to a hell of a lot of change.
