I cannot believe you got negative comments about your son’s death. That’s just awful. I’ve never posted on Kos before. I actually started out on DU way back in 2002 but I eventually left there in 2005. Kind of joined a spinoff of that site and a site called CU for a little while (It’s a weird story.) I didn’t do much in the 2008 presidential election since I was focused on transfering from community college to GMU. I was happy Obama won but I really wanted to stay out of politics until I saw the Tea Party’s rise which scared me.

The sad truth is that I expect it. I’ve had nasty encounters with Republicans at antiwar rallies. Encounter them at the gym. Plenty of them have told me they were glad that my son died. One time I encountered an idiot wearing a Cruz T-shirt and I let him have it. The guy tried to take a swing at me, he wound up with a shot of pepper spray in his face. Others cheered when they saw that piece of shit get splatted.
