depends on how the term is applied doesn’t it?…was Dylan a genius as a writer?…he didn’t invent a new form of poetry or verbage…nothing new there, but in his time and place he was pretty much singular…doesn’t make him a genius, just very good at what he was doing…he thinks a lot of his work stinks and his fans are dopes for liking it…genius gets tossed around too frequently, it loses all meaning for some people…Waits is no genius
