A friend of mine’s dad who had influence diddled with his military career and made sure he stayed out of Vietnam. He had no clue about it until his dad told him years later. The sad part was it fucked up his career; he honestly wanted to go far, but as someone who hadn’t done jack during the war he didn’t have a chance for any real commands.
