If your boy has seen the like on tv already, maybe just a quick look would be ok, compared to the mystery of not being able to see her? I don’t know, never had to guide a child through this. No professional child shrink/counselors here? Heck, I can barely take ths sight of this stuff even now, but it’s the world.

It’s not just kids. When my grandmother passed a year and a half ago, I went to look at her in her coffin. I only stayed a moment, because it wasn’t the woman I remembered. When we got the call that it was our last chance to view her before they closed the casket, I stayed behind. I wanted to remember her as she was in life. It was too difficult to see her that way. I can’t imagine how a child would take it.
