Faith isn’t just an arbitrary concept; you have to consider carefully who or what you have faith in. I can have a massive amount of faith that I can ignore the law of gravity, but it won’t really get me anywhere, will it? If I want to walk on water, I have to have faith in the One who walks on water himself.

Walter, I think I understand your position; you are giving this mother a great amount of grace for living consistently with her beliefs. I wonder at times why we are more worried about being consistent in our beliefs when the people we oppose politically seem to care less about it. Why is being consistent better?

This is an open question.

Faith is the belief in that which is unseen. Gravity is seen, known, a measurable quantity.

This woman (and here christian sect) has faith in all the healing passages in scripture.

There are many incidents of people praying to g-d in scripture and receiving healing and other miracles.

Why is it suddenly wrong for this woman to have faith in those scriptures and passages?

I don’t agree with this woman at all, I’m an atheist, but I can see where she is coming from. Funny how her other pro-religionist can’t.
