I enjoy most of the sushi I’ve tried, but spicy tuna is one I have trouble with. Whatever they use for heat seems to be the problem. It’s funny- my crews have always included Mexicans and they usually have a large can of jalapenos that they pop down like I eat cookies- but they can’t handle wasabi- different kinds of spice. And they got all bug-eyed at the suckers on the octopus pieces. Especially when I told them it was taco!

The first time I ever tried sushi it was in Moscow. That is a big no-no! My daughter-in-law said, “Stay away from the sushi! Here, try the caviar, it’s awesome!”

Same thing happened in Tiberias, on the Kinneret (Lake of Galilee). The restaurant we went to had a lengthy Thai menu. Don’t ask. I ordered the St. Peter’s fish and everyone else at the table was nibbling from my plate.
