It reminds me of the Patriot Act in a way. Like what are they going to do unless you have something to hide. Any decent FBI hack can check my debt card records and see how many packs of cigarettes I buy a day.

There’s a site full of liberals here that would care to disagree with you that the Patriot Act is as innocuous as you say.

If memory serves, liberals and Democrats thought the Patriot Act was a data point in the trendline that Bush=Hitler. That bastion of Democratic Party thought, moveon.org, even made a campaign ad with the equation Bush=Hitler in it, in big scary chiseled font.
