re: #602 albusteve

fuck up a very small part of it…the nuclear site…I gotta go but lets say this…

if we let Iran achieve their bomb grade fuel, which they openly admit to, they have the delivery system, it can be assumed that the warhead tech has already long ago been sold to them by the Norks or Pakis, and we consider their passionate, relentless, overt declaration to destroy Israel (and the Saudis?)…if all this is taken into consideration, then why are we better off to do nothing because of some legit grievance from decades or longer ago?…is it rational to allow this to happen because of something that happened in the past, with different players in a different political world…how far do we go to allow history to dictate the actins of the present?…

I’m out like the Shah

This isn’t actually the point I was addressing. Strategic reasons why we should hit Iran pre-emptively are beyond my pay grade. I believe they’re dangerous, I believe we should keep an eye on them, and I believe they’re angry at us for real reasons. These are all real truths, and they can all coexist! Just because I believe that we fucked Iran up and they have every right to hate us like poison, doesn’t mean we should let our guard down.

I don’t accept the premise that it is CERTAIN they will hit Israel. I believe that Iran is engaging in rhetoric about hitting Israel because it’s politically viable. Many people here seem to think Iran’s leadership are suicidal. I don’t. Is it possible? Sure. Is it probable? I don’t believe so.

The point that I was actually addressing is, you cannot talk about the predicted behavior of the Iranian people while dismissing their very recent negative history with the USA and Great Britain. If you dismiss that, you have no informed opinion regarding how the Iranian people will view us.
