re: #641 iceweasel

You really believe that?

You think it was an accident that the Dems won in 2006, and took everything in 2008?
You think it’s luck that Obama hammered McCain as much as he did?

You don’t have to like or agree with the Democrats to figure out that SOMETHING huge changed. One of the things that changed was their strategy.

The Repubs are now where the Dems were from 2000-2006— trapped in whining about a lost election, running around biting their own tails.

The sooner the republicans regroup and restrategise, the better for the GOP. And the sooner the US has a good and strong opposition party, the better for all Americans.

You are correct, of course, that the Republicans have to stop whining. You do not win by being negative, you must be positive.

I would say that the Dems find themselves in power now not just because they came up with fresh ideas (hardly) and had a positive message (empty) . They won because the country grew weary of the bad leadership the Republicans offered them. And, they won the Presidency because Barack Obama is a tremendous campaigner.

I am not ready to read the obituary of the Republicans just yet. The same thing that brought the Dems to power will return the Republicans….bad leadership. Even with the KoolAir slurping media pumping Obama and his plans for the USA up with all their might, the course he is currently taking us will backfire, badly, and the fickle electorate will toss them out as well - IF the Republicans can stop wallowing in their own misery, attacking each other and starting hammering home a simple positive alternative to Obamunism.
