GM and Chrysler were on their knees, with a 90-120 inventory and 2010’s coming soon. If it clears those cars out, and gets customers in the showrooms, it could have a long term effect. I also found out the program is driving used car sales to folks that were at the dealer and did not qualify for the rebate or financing.

This is temporary IMHO. When the clunker program is over watch what happens to car sales.
