When the trial is over and a verdict rendered (innocent, guilty, or hung jury), is he then free to attack the witnesses, the jury, and everyone else who upsets him?

Well, yes, but at that point, the verdict is rendered. There’s no other witnesses to chill, and intimidating the former jury isn’t going to change the outcome.
