I can only guess that this dates back to the days that we first moved out of the caves and savahnnahs and started building private reisedences with walls and doors creating the concept a “private sphere”…

I will vote for the GOP again the day that they put the following position in their platform the “What consulting adults do privately in their spare time is beyond the reach and scope of government regulation or intervention”

One might point out that the Democrats do not have a similar position in their platform, but in general, they have not demnstrated that they need one…
