Remember when the Dems took Congress in 2006? Right wingers thought that the Dems were going to go nuts with Bush/Cheney impeachment hearings, obstruction of troop funds, etc. With the exception of loony Kucinich, the Democrats broke away from the whole “Bush is a traitor” moniker.

All too often, the responsibilities of office moderate American politicians.
