I wish more people would phrase the argument in this way.

I think it’s one of those topics that separates the reflexive right from the think right. If you can’t see the benefit to national security and our economy as a whole to shift away from Oil — environmental arguments be damned — there is something wrong, there.

I have no issue with shifting away from oil.

It’s doing it before there is an alternative that I have an issue with.

And also -
It’s doing it, needlessly, in such a way that thousands of people are suddenly without employment, the jobs they’ve worked and trained in for years, with no lead time, no time to seek new employment or seek training for new employment.
