Do you understand what I mean by the usage of ‘prog’ being similar to the usage of ‘neo-con’ by those on the ‘left’ under G.W. Bush? Especially when applied to domestic policies, there were all sorts of conservatives who weren’t in the least neo-con being called neo-con. In fact, a lot of social conservatives were labelled as such.

I understand that you saw “prog” as an insult, and took issue with it, probably reasonably.

I’m suggesting we should all avoid insulting with broad brush insults as much as possible, and that objections could perhaps be raised with those who do it the other way.

You see it differently, apparently. OK.
