What I find is that there’s a lot of people who only know about certain issues from a very wingnut source, and don’t want or don’t know how to investigate further.

There’s that, and then there’s also a lot of false equivalency, and it’s all topped of with the inability of many to believe that the Right is really as crazy as they are. Once again I point to the survey where, presented with actual planks from the Republican platform, most poll respondents thought they were Liberal exaggerations

Feminism being the most prominent case…where people seem to imagine all feminists are lock-step with Dworkin and Mary Daly, if not the SCUM Manifesto.

Hence all those “Feminist, buts” one runs into.

And sadly, I must confess my ignorance of the Warhol reference. Fucking elitists!
