re: #647 Harry Tuttle
Morning Harry Tuttle! Well I don’t want to intrude here, but I am a lawyer (albeit retired from practice) and a former Associate Professor of Law (adjunct) and I’ll say that Ben and Tom would probably have been pretty effin’ upset about this whole Pork Bill too - but if they thought it was necessary for the FEDERAL government to do it to save the United States, they’d have gone with it.

The real problem here is that although everyone was rushed to vote for this One thousand plus page bill, Obama can’t be rushed to sign it until Tuesday.
That’s the kind of chicanery and bullshit that annoys the hell out of me - many members admitted - on TV - that they’d been forced to vote for this bill without being able to read it, or have their staff read it, because of the BIG RUSH Pelosi and Reid put on getting it passed.
There’s a lot in the earlier, 759 page bill which I did read - I lead such an exciting life - that I hated with a passion - but even I don’t have time to read the whole damn thing. THAT would have Pissed off Franklin and Jefferson NO END - that the representatives of the People “had” to vote on such an enormous “Stimulus Bill” - which everyone knew was loaded with pork - without the chance to read it or for a reaoned debate about it.
But I think it’s constitutional, though I can’t say for sure cause I haven’t read all of the bill; there are parts which may not be constitutional.
And, fwiw, I think Obama’s trying to take over the Census (which is separate and apart from this bill, I think,) is indeed unconstitutional.
