I agree. But I would pursue it with different means, depending on who I address. Here, I would state my case and argue.
Still, when I lurked, I was the biggest fan of Spacejesus. He made me laugh.
Btw, here’s something interesting I noticed: nobody excused or defended the icon. Instead, they defended Mandy’s character without acknowledging the actual point of criticism. Now, I think that’s a normal enough reaction for a community. But the question is, what happens next. Do people bring the criticized person in line? Do they distance themselves from the act, but not the person? Do they rally round and mob the critic?
