I distinctly remember at least one of the witnesses qualifying that statement, said something like…

“then it looked like he got hit cause he jerk around and put his hands up”
(paraphrase)

Meanwhile the Dr. Baden has said that it appeared as if one of the hits on his arm could have possibly come from behind, so the witness statement could still be 100% correct.

And that’s my assumption, either one of the rounds grazed his arm or just the sound of a bullet going by was enough to make him realize that he was being shot at, so he turned to surrender.
