They had a whole series on TV about this, called “Lie to Me,” starring the ever-enjoyable Tim Roth.

Facial ticks. “Lie to Me” is available on Netflix.

Edit to Add: The first season and a half-ish is worth watching. IMHO, after that it lost some steam. But Tim Roth is always great.

I loved Tim Roth in that show, it was the whole premise of the show itself that was a bit much. I mean, for him to 100% know who’s lying and who isn’t just by looking at them for a split second? Seems a bit far fetched.
